You can self-register online if you are a RI resident. You will have limited privileges and you must show a valid Rhode Island ID and proof of address at your library within 30 days to get a permanent card or this temporary patron record will be deleted.
When applying for a permanent library card, a driver’s license or a Rhode Island ID with the current address is required. If this is unavailable the library will accept two (2) other forms of identification with the current address, such as: postmarked mail; recent utility bill; checkbook; or a lease agreement.
For children under the age of sixteen (16), a parent or guardian must show one piece of identification and sign the children’s application in person at the library. For children under eighteen (18), if they do not have a RI ID or License, a parent or guardian must sign the application as well.
Print forms are available at the library circulation desk.
Always bring your Adams Library card with you when you visit the library. There is a $1.00 replacement fee for a lost or stolen card. You are responsible for all materials borrowed on your library card from the time they are checked out until they are checked in. Please report a lost or stolen card immediately to avoid responsibility for unauthorized use.
When you sign the back of the library card, you agree to uphold the contract that appears on each card. This card is non-transferable.
